Marty Brennaman is a former American sportscaster who is best known for his long and successful career as the radio voice of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. Born on July 28, 1942 in Portsmouth, Virginia, Brennaman began his broadcasting career in the minor leagues before eventually joining the Reds in 1974.
During his tenure with the Reds, Brennaman became known for his passionate and energetic style of announcing, earning him the nickname "The Voice of the Reds". He was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame in 2005.
Brennaman retired as the Reds' play-by-play announcer in 2019 after 46 seasons with the team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest baseball announcers of all time and has received numerous awards and accolades for his work behind the microphone.
